Respond to Review of Shojin

Review: Temple food at reasonable prices. In Japan, shojin ryoori (temple food) can go for 30-100 dollars a person. Try the bento lunch. Don't forget to ask for parking validation. This place kind of copied Casa De Tree, which was in Torrance, but now in West side on Venice and Motor ave. Its an organic vegan Japanese buffet and bakery. Great food, bread, tea and sweats.

Correction: Shojin is NOT at all like Casa de Tree. In fact, Shojin owners did not even know about Casa de Tree. I was one of the first customers at Shojin and had conversed with the owners, and they did not know about Casa de Tree. The Shojin chef, however, studied with Sanae and Eric who recently opened Seed in Venice (also macrobiotic). But Shojin is not like Seed either.

Casa de Tree is lovely. Seed is awesome. Shojin is excellent as well. Hurray for Los Angeles vegetarians with all these choices.
