Review: If you are a fan of Nepalese cuisine such as I am, you will appreciate the food at this place, located in the more obscure south end of Ukiah. It's next door to a Mexican restaurant. There are plenty of vegetarian entrees. My only "bone" to pick is the same one I have with many other restaurants: the ill-defined area of "mixed" veggies, which typically is a mixture of carrots, broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, the latter two of which are cruciferous. Certain people with digestive ailments cannot eat these without severe problems, and even asking the chef, who is quite vegetarian- and dietary-needs- friendly, to take them out does not guarantee your vegetable soup is safely edible. Nontheless, this place has excellent dahl (lentil) soup. The herbal broth soup was rather bland in my estimation, and had a lot of cauliflower, which I enjoy more in moderation, but the papadums with chutney on the side was an excellent appetizer. Potatoes were spiced with herbs but rather bland and a little dry. Rice is extra but nice to balance out some of the oilier dishes. The ambiance is like a dim home light, often with live music, which can make it hard for conversation. Service can be slow depending on how short-staffed they are. Outdoor seating is available on the street side, which can be nice, weather permitting, and given the low amount of traffic. Most traffic is for the cheap margaritas next door and the apartment driveway next door.
