Review: From what I can tell, this may be the oldest continually operating veg joint in the city. Its location is odd to say the least... tucked into an obscure corner of a labyrinthine Centro Commercial (mall), next to the toy grabbing machine and pushed up against another restaurant nearby. There is also something a bit strange about the tienda, which is quite large but does not allow people to enter - if you have bad eyes, forget about seeing half the products. That said, this is a piece of veg history worth visiting, with solid meals, great gluten tamales, and very cheap and filling lunches. Friendly (again note the "no entry" rule in the kitchen area, which ironically seems to be inviting you to enter), and very convenient once you've figured out where it is. Enter in the "Centro Commercial La Union" entrance on Carrera 50. As an alternate, there is also an entrance on the other side of the building at Carrera 49. Don't expect people inside to know anything about a vegetarian restaurant, but it's not too tough to find once you start looking. Note that the map marker is currently not even in the right neighborhood, going to try to submit a fix for that. It's not more than a block or two from the Parque Berrio metro stop. Not the most compelling veg restaurant in the city, but one of the cheapest, most convenient, and certainly the most storied.
