Respond to Review of Il Margutta RistorArte
Review: We sat outside to enjoy the evening weather, silly not to when Britain's summer is currently failing! It seems you are expected to want an alcoholic drink but both being dehydrated and tired we did refuse. They are certainly determined to upsell but then suddenly we were brought a little 'gift from the chef' a perfect little ball of veg with drops of sauce (I was ensured it was vegan). Very very happily received, it was lovely. We did accept the bread basket, without knowing the cost (€5), but its not any bog standard bread! The white loaf was gorgeous but then there were pink slices and yellow! The yellow bread had slight Indian flavours. I suspected turmeric. My boyfriend had the ravioli and I the Pacchetti, both sat eating in silence, and when we spoke we were just boasting our own meals. Clearly homemade pasta but being vegan I haven't had any fresh pasta in years, too lazy to make my own. This was stunning and perfectly cooked. The balance between the fresh tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, peas and broad beans was something I didn't expect! Just perfect. The ravioli consisted of three large gourmet parcels with a little bowl of creamy ricotta and a tomato and aubergine sauce. All together with water and one fizzy drink it was only €33.50, for the quality we agreed this was just great. Just to add I did read that the 7 course vegan menu is €50 per person. I wish we could it looks beyond amazing! The servers were helpful and spoke very workable English. Separate English menus are printed to help. We would recommend over and over!
