Respond to Review of Il Margutta RistorArte
Review: The restaurant is in a posh area, surrounded by upmarket hotels and shops, and has quite a pricey a la carte menu in the evenings. At lunchtime, they offer an affordable buffet. There are 3 choices for the lunchtime buffet, which all included water, fruit juice, soup, main course and fruit salad. This starts at 12E. The 15E choice has the above plus dessert and coffee or tea, a further 18E choice includes wine. The chef went round the hot and cold buffet with us and showed us which items were vegan - would say it was pretty obvious, but nice and reassuring that they took the trouble. I think over 50% was vegan and there was definitely plenty of choice. They made up a vegan option for the dessert as well and vegan coffees (they made a mistake with the first one so made a replacement and gave me that too, so I had a caffiene high as well as a full stomach!). Despite being a buffet, the food was really fresh tasting, italian style food. The only thing we didn't like so much was the soup which just wasn't our kind of thing. The dessert was vegan carrot cake with a fresh sorbet - you picked the flavour for them to make andn that was a great end to the meal. Really good value for the money, compared with the rest of Rome.
