1 1/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1+ cup of warm water (adjust when mixing, the batter needs to be like lava)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
4 tablespoons almond butter
3 tablespoons almond milk
2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
To baked the cake, first preheat oven to 350F degrees.
Mix dry ingredients together well, and then sift.
Combine wet ingredients together in a separate mixing bowl.
Then combine them with the dry the sifted dry ingredients.
Very lightly mix the batter in the baking tray. If the original amount of ingredients is used, use a 8-inch x 8-inch square tray or pie tray. Add some water if mixture is too thick - it should look like a thick cocoa drink.
Put the tray into oven and bake for around 30 minutes (shorter if making a smaller cake), or check with a toothpick and it should come out clean.
Place cake aside to cool it for at least 2 hours.
If you'd like to make a special birthday cake, cut out the center of the cake; it is the tastiest and most moist part.
To make the sauce, place everything except the vanilla extract into a sauce pan, and then heat it up.
Watch and mix the ingredients while it melts. For a thicker sauce (glaze), leave it to bubble for a little bit.
Remove from heat and add in the vanilla extract. Then immediately pour the sauce onto the cake.
