When in Jackson, there aren't really too many places that are overly veggie-friendly. But you may want to try the following places for some vegetarian (and even some vegan) options:

***** Chinatown
Chinese restaurant with many vegetarian options. My favorite: Szechuan Bean Curd. Warning to vegans: Mu Shu Vegetables has eggs. 850 West Broadway. 307-733-8856.

***** Rising Sage Cafe
Deli style. A good choice for a vegan lunch, with Vegetarian Hummus Pita, Oriental Salad (ask to hold the chicken), and often vegetarian soup. A few miles out of the center of town. 307-733-8649.

***** Shades Cafe
Good for soup, salads, and sandwiches. Open 7:30am to 5pm; stays open later in the summer. 82 South King, very near Town Square, 307-733-2015.

***** Blue Lion
The vegatiarian dishes: Pasta Primavera, Tempeh Monterey, and Tempeh Crepes. A bit pricy, popular with locals, food is pretty tastey.
160 N. Millward, a few blocks from Town Square, 307-733-3912.

***** Off Broadway
Two vegetarin pasta dishes (one can be made without cheese), and a thai stir fry dish. 30 South King, near Town Square, 307-733-9777.

***** Snake River Grill
A little expensive, with a trendy feel. They advertise that they will work with people with special dietary needs. Grilled Vegetable Plate entree, along with Salads and Pizzas. 84 East Broadway, on the Town Square, 307-733-0557.
