I have visited Indianpolis often and am orginally from the state. Indianapolis is not a bad place to visit. There is great shopping and some great museums. If you want to just have some good old fashioned kid fun or have kids yoruself then go to the Children's museum. It is educational and very interactive. Downtown has some good shopping as well (check at Circle Center Mall for a good mix of stores).

Eating in Indianapolis is not hard to come by bu there aren't many fully veg places. Check out Three Sisters Cafe in the Broad Ripple area. A tasty tasty place that you really can't miss. And the are is just a hip place to go as well. Lots of unique shoppings all around. You just have to know what places to hit up in Indianapolis to really have some fun.

Georgetown Market - They have a few vegan options everyday in their cafe. There cake is awesome and they make great smoothies.

Abbey Coffeehouse - They have quite a few vegan options and since they have moved, apparently no meat is grilled on their grills, it is baked. This, according to the host, would allow for the vegan options that are grilled to truly be vegan as opposed to having nasty meat drippings all over your food. Why places that offer many vegan options do not have a separate cooking area for their vegan food is beyond me.

The two Wild Oats markets have some vegan options in their cafe/deli areas.

I cannot believe a city of this size (when including the surrounding suburbs) does not have an all vegan restaurant. All of the other omni restaurants are not trust worthy when it comes to making something vegan. Too much cross contamination. Who the heck wants tofu that is stir fried in the same pans as meat?

The only decent options for vegans are the following places:

Udipi Cafe - They are all vegetarian, but are not exclusively vegan. The staff is quite helpful in pointing out which menu items or buffet items are vegan.

Gardens Vegetarian Cafe - They are not all vegan but do have vegan options. For some odd reason, they put honey in their smoothies. The clerk there even went as far as saying all the vegans she knows, eat honey ... eeeew! Be careful, they also use honey in there tofu scramble and their wheat bread contains honey.
