The Cafe near the corner of Southard and Duval streets is a little pricey but worth every penny. Their food is innovative and delicious ... I eat there every week. Try the blackened grilled tofu with fruit salsa (you have to ask if they have it) and the yellowfin tuna with spinach and brown rice. AMAZING food. Also, I recently discovered the local health food store, Sugar Apple, near the corner of Truman Ave. and Simonton St., has a full kitchen. They use all organic, have a great juice bar and their daily specials are so delicious. Worth a trip for a low-key lunch off the beaten path.

This wonderful health food store/cafe is about 30 miles before you get to Key West. A wonderful stop if you are traveling thru the Keys and want to stop before the "end". Awesome pita pocket sandwiches(overflowing with sprouts, tons of various veggies, tofu) and smoothies. Cozy, funky, colorful garden seating in back.
