Nepal Cuisine, on Table Mesa Dr. in Boulder, offers a completely vegan lunch buffet every Monday. They have Samosas, Pakora, Momos, Indian curries, Dahl, and a bunch of other Indian style dishes. They even have a vegan rice pudding for dessert. It's all quite tasty, and definitely worth trying.

There are 3 places worth mentioning that didn’t get a listing in the restaurant section. The first is Golden Lotus, which is a Chinese restaurant that serves mock chicken dishes. They have a small selection on their lunch menu, but they will make any menu item (for lunch or dinner) using their veggie chicken. Although all of their dishes are tasty, what I think is most noteworthy about Golden Lotus is their veggie chicken lettuce cups which are outstanding. Plus they offer scallion pancakes, which are hard to find around here, and they are really really good. The second place worth mentioning is Sun Deli Pizza. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, but what is so special about them is their vegan cheese pizza, calzones, and breadsticks. All delicious! And lastly, I’d like to mention Glacier Ice Cream. Although they aren’t a restaurant, they are noteworthy because they offer a vegan chocolate ice cream (chocolate soy cream). It’s really good, and it’s so much fun to be able to go out to a main stream ice cream shop with your non-vegan friends and be able to get something other than a fruit sorbet.

Vegetarians won't have too much trouble finding things to eat in progressive Boulder. Ethnic restaurants (Chinese, Thai, Indian, Mexican) are everywhere, and there are even some veg-oriented places. The most famous is Sunflower - a fancy (and expensive) gourmet organic veg restaurant on the corner of 17th and Pearl. The big chains are around town, too: a number of Wild Oats, such as the one conveniently located at Broadway and Arapahoe, and a huge Whole Foods at 29th and Pearl, with lots of hot foods and a large salad bar. But if you'd like good vibes with your food, I recommend Cafe Prasad. Located right next door to the Boulder Co-Op Market at 19th and Pearl (not a bad place itself), it is a funky, friendly place, with reasonably-priced homemade hot and cold items - a community hangout.
