Vege night out
Hi Nat,
I'm afraid our city to surf adventure was a dismal failure :(
Not because of the restaurant (we'd picked Bodhi Garden), but because of a really bad bout of tonsilitis that I developed on the trip down to sydney the day before the race. I got really crook that night and ended up having to come back home the next morning. No city to surf, no shmick vege restaurant....very disappointing.
Anyways, now that thats all behind us, we're going to a Cat Empire concert in Oct and plan on visiting Bodhi Garden then. We're also going down in Nov for a Xavier Rudd concert, so now we can give Full Circle a try :)

Thanks heaps, and I'll let you know how we go.

Vege night out
Hi Nat,
Thanks heaps for that. Its really hard when you're not from Sydney but you know that there's got to be really good vege restaurants somewhere....just got to find them.
:)
I'm sure we'll have a great night now, thanks again.

Vege Restaurant night out
Hello there! There would be three places I would suggest (but one we haven't been to yet - but heard great things about). So I would suggest: 1. Full Circle (new and refurbished place - but haven't been to yet) at Crows Nest or North Sydney 2. Bodhi in the Park (great meals, quiet location overlooking park - just under the St Mary's Cathedral) 3. Harvest in Balmain (about 3-4 vegan mains - rest vege, can become expensive as will need entree as well, complimentary salad with meal). So these places are more swish for us vege diners. The restaurant locations are listed in the listing under "Sydney". Most other restaurants the food is good but the atmosphere can be lacking for romance. If you've after a vegan meal in darling harbour, I recommend Black Bird Cafe in Cockle Bay side upstairs, it has one vegan steamed tofu & veges in a satay sauce meal, or I think pumpkin pizza without the feta and napolitana penne, it's not a classy place but has a dj sometimes. otherwise Zafraan at Darling Harbour has vege meals and it has good Indian food.

Have fun at the city to surf and I recommend going to the Organic Vegetarian Cafe for lunch at 45 Gould St - a street parallel to the beach road. We did that last year and the food tasted fantastic after the long walk :) Enjoy, Nat.

Your suggestion for Vege night out
Hi khity,
My wife and I are going to Sydney next weekend for the City to Surf and are desperate to find a really good veg restaurant within commuting distance of Darling Harbour.
Youu appear to have been to a few (from your reviews)so I was wondering where you would suggest? Just the two of us and we're really looking for something special...not your run of the mill veg-friendly...would like something shmick!
Thanks heaps,
Vegkev...
