Po Tai vegetarian restaurant
Hi! I tried this place last week on the basis of your review. It was great! How on earth did you ever find this place? I read Kanji (Japanese) halfway decently, but I would never have found this place on my own. Thanks! I travel often to Hong Kong and Japan for my work. This place was a little treasure. |

Hey
Hey Johnny S
Thanks for all your help re: the liquid smoke. I don't know if you saw my reply on the post - it is very cheap from ebay but I'm waiting to hear on the cost of postage. If it's a few dollars (like 4,5 or 6) then it'll be worth it otherwise I'll just have to wait for the other links you posted to have it back in stock. I did buy myself some measuring cups whilst on ebay (looking on ebay hadn't even entered my mind before now).
I've just noticed on your profile that you're in London. Don't know why but I thought you were in Asia somewhere!!!
Anyhoo - re: meat.org - I hope my comment didn't come off as arrogant - I really didn't want to give that impression. I just merely wanted to point out that a veggie site isn't really the place to post links about the effects of eating meat. I think it's something ALL of the members here are well aware of.
But then I suppose if we get visitors to the site that do eat meat they would find that post useful.
GAH!!!
I should think before I post things.

spliting up cities
Hi John,
It's a complicated issue. We used to have NYC all divided into sections and people who live there would write us with different opinions. Then others who were just visiting were also quite confused. This long list avoids that and is also correct in terms of how the postman sees it (i believe). Anyhow, isn't what you're asking the opposite of what you were suggesting for that small town in UK? |

thanks
for the personal message. You know me well and how sensitive and I and I appreciate you taking the time to write to me about it!! I know you do not mean it personally and I promise I try not to take it as such. I can tell you haven't been around, I hope you are able to make it on more often! By the way, I'm now all setup to blog, so hopefully you'll see something from me soon! |

HK Vegetarians
Thanks John. The business has certainly improved. We are now actively looking into opening a second vegetarian place on the Kowloon side. The most surprising thing I learnt doing this was that HK has so many aspiring vegetarians but they are awed by all kinds of mis-conceptions. That is why I am serious about having a Hong Kong Vegetarian group.
Guess what? I am a member of a rugby football club and this year their annual curry lunch was a completely vegetarian affair (hosted by us) and we had a satisfied bunch. |
