About: |
I have been a vegetarian for 12 years and (mostly) vegan for almost 2 years. I am a professional in the corporate world. This creates some awkward situations during shared meals when people want to know why I'm a vegetarian.

More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
For compassionate reasons.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I look at the reviews very often when traveling. I finally decided to start contributing to the reviews this year, since this site has been so helpful to me.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I loved Sydney, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver. I want to visit London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Thailand, Ireland and Scotland...I better start making some plans!!!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I am a big fan of Tofutti's Mint Chocolate Chip Cuties. I love veggie tacos. San Francisco had the best, many places carried tofu and tvp as fillings. I like making pizza, pot pies, shepherds' pie and other stuff (all veg of course!!)
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Unfortunately I have not read much in the animal rights domain. I want to read the sexual politics of meat.. just been procrastinating. I enjoy VegTimes magazine. Generally I like sci-fi, action films (Fight club) and period pieces, victorian literature and BritComs

Vegan living -
Hi Mimi - I smiled at your great review of "The Foundation Lounge" - great choice of words! Perhaps you would consider rewriting your review of "The Naam" - the owners / staff there might benefit from some encouragement / advice - maybe if they improved the ventilation system the dining experience would have been more pleasant for you guys! I am also a vegan & cannot abide the smell of eggs - here in Viet Nam Hong Kong where I am based we have mostly "ovo" places - milk is much easier to avoid here. - Y's. - John |
