More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I believe in the sanctity of life. I don't want to cause the death of any of God's creatures if I can help it.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I wanted to add some reviews to help others sort through the good and the bad. Sure wish I'd had some better reviews available when I first started checking out vegetarian restaurants years ago!

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
My husband and I love Toronto, they have the best vegetarian dining around. I'd love to visit India and England someday.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Too many favorites to list. As far as vegetarianism goes, I read _Animal Liberation_ eleven years ago with the full intent of giving the author a shot at changing my mind (I was a dedicated carnivore), but not expecting to alter my opinion. I was so wrong! Couldn't eat meat again after reading that. My worldview was complete after reading _Peter Abelard_ and learning about the Patripassian Heresy...that God is in all things, feels all that his creation feels; therefore, to kill and cause pain to others is to cause God to suffer as well. The crucifixion of Christ was but a small sliver of what God feels, representative of all the pain and suffering God endures for the love of the world. Sorry to get all religious...I'm generally not like this, but when people ask me about why I'm a vegetarian, that's the real answer. I've always loved animals, but I guess it wasn't enough until I figured out how God works in the whole picture. Other than that, I'd recommend the SciFi of Orson Scott Card. I'm always reading several books, so feel free to message me and ask what's new.
