More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I think refraining from killing animals and eating them lifts people up to the human platform of goodness. People are so removed from their food and so disconnected from its source. When becoming vegetarian, this starts to change.
Since eating is such a big part of our day (3 or more meals for some), it has a direct impact on our lives.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I like Happy Cow and Eric and Diana have worked hard to keep this site vibrant. :)
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I've liked almost every place I've been: Japan, North and South India, Phillipines, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Texas, NY
I would like to visit Tuscany in Italy, Paris, and also go back to India to Gangotri (source of the Ganges), back to Vrindavana in UP, and visit some very old South Indian temples.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
South Indian food (dosas, iddlis, sambar, coconut chutney)
Green beans with mung vadis
Fried things! (puris, sweet potato fries, vadas, samosas, pakoras)
i could live on India's street vendor foods :)
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Books:
Healthy At 100 by John Robbins
Veganomicon (you rock :)
In the Devil's Garden: A Sinful History of Forbidden Food
Movies:
Babe
