Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Not only does it make me feel better physically and help manage my IBS, I feel better emotionally not eating something that has a personality, thoughts and feelings. Plus, anything that's better for the environment is going to help my children and grandchildren.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I want to be able to find places to eat out quicker and easier, particularly when out of town (or country) and in an unfamiliar area - Google doesn't always have all the info!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
To eat: definitely check out Little Bird Unbakery, and Cosset Cafe. They rock. To visit: we loved Fiji, but not the overdone touristy areas. Check out Naigani Island (Google it, there's only one resort because it's such a small island) - completely out of the way, a little off-grid, but soooooo worth it! Beautiful, natural, relaxing, friendly, comfortable. A world away from everyday life. And they cater for vegetarians!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Chickpeas, tempeh, tofu, allllllll the fruit and vegetables (so good!!) I enjoy a much wider range of foods now than I ever did in my younger years, and I'm having so much fun trying new things!

Anything by Isa Chandra Moskowitz - that woman knows her food! (The Post Punk Kitchen (website), Veganomicon, Isa Does It, Vegan With a Vengeance (cook books)). Also check out Oh She Glows (Angela Liddon) for great, easy to make vegan recipes - she has a new cookbook out too. One word can describe both these ladies of vegan cuisine - yum!
