Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Simply to reduce animal suffering, to do my part in preserving the environment and to reap the health benefits!
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I joined HappyCow in hopes to find local veg restaurants and to find out what veg options local non-veg restaurants serve. I also do not know many vegans/vegetarians, so I would like to get in touch with people who share a similar lifestyle.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I used to live in Austin, Texas which holds a plethora of vegan and vegetarian restaurants/joints. Unfortunately, I didn't become vegetarian (mostly vegan)until I moved to Southern California. There are a lot of veg joints here in Southern California, but are scarce in the specific city I live in.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Vegan Mac 'n' Cheese (I'm a master at this1) Basically any Asian dish (noodle dishes, soups, and rice to be exact) Italian, I love pasta. Filipino food, there are incredible noodle and soup dishes. (I am half Filipino. I will always love my roots!) Tofurky,Tofu, okay, this list will be long so pretty much any vegan version of everything! haha I also LOVE my greens. Kale, Spinach, Collard Greens, Mmmm.. I love to juice them especially. Absolutely ANYTHING coconut or strawberry! I'm sure there's more but I don't want to overwhelm this section. :)

The Vegetarian Starter Guide is an amazing mini mag that packs huge amounts of information into a few pages. It provides recipes, weekly meal plans, and explains how a vegetarian diet helps the environment, animals, and health! It helped me so much!
