Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
My journey started after my mom was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and I stepped on a scale at the doctor's office in February 2012. Those two events prompted my lifestyle change and I've been extremely satisfied with the physical results, as well as my internal results. I have chosen to take my health back into my own hands and take responsibility for what I eat, how I treat the planet, and all the animals we share it with.

When I became vegan, I had no idea where to begin. HappyCow was one of the first places I found, and I began my culinary adventures into veganism in the city of Austin, Texas by using the info on this site!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I've really never traveled too far (just a few states over in a few directions, but I'd love to go outside of the country to some different places. Not really sure where in particular.

I enjoy foods in many varieties and am always stunned by the array of options available when I'm out and about. My favorites are wraps, Indian cuisine, veggie subs, and eating at vegan food trucks and restaurants here in Austin.
