Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
My pet rabbit helped me see the world with renewed eyes; she was a part of the inspiration that sent me on my very first search into the universe of health, wellness, and everything herbivore. I would love to live on a plant-based diet permanently, as I care about my health and the environment very much. As a minor, it is not my decision as to what I will and will not eat. For now, I am relatively content to discover as much as I can about these sorts of things until I am 18 and can to choose my own lifestyle.

I joined HappyCow so that I could see what sorts of yummy dishes there are out there! Who knew that right down the street, there was a delicious vegan-friendly pizza place? Now I'll always be "in the know" when it comes to eating-out or on-the-go!

For snacks, I like anything organic! But we usually don't have organic snacks at my house. Hummus and pumpkin-seed chips are yummy. Fresh edamame is good, too. When it comes to main meals, I love to cook and make little masterpieces out of ingredients! But when it comes to desserts, I like to keep it simple. There is a delicious, homemade soup that a friend of mine made once that had garbanzo beans and tomato in it...oooh that tasted so good! I still need the recipe from her. We always have bananas around the house, so when it's time for dessert I like to do a lot of things with banana. One of my favorite things to do with it is freeze it into chunks for 2-3 hours and then blend it with almonds (that i blend into a powder beforehand) to make a delicious gelato or ice-cream sort of thing. Just a frozen banana on a stick is really good, too.

There are so many great healthy food magazines out there! One of my favorites is "Healthy Cooking" by tasteofhome. They have wonderful product reviews and food recipes! Apart from magazines, there is a great website called "Gojee". Under food category, you can select ingredients that you don't want to come up in search results. Then you can search by ingredient or name for something that you want to make. All recipes are by popular or reputable chefs. I would recommend Gojee to anyone who loves to cook.
