Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
1. animals feel pain too, and it's TOTALLY unnecessary! If you wouldn't wish something on yourself, then don't wish it on the animals! 2. eating animal products acidifies our bodies, causing an untold number of illnesses and disease 3. Our beautiful planet cannot sustain large scale animal farming for much longer!
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
because I love eating great veggie/vegan/raw food and I want to meet more intelligent humanoids (ie: those that abhor the suffering of innocents)
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I detest LA as a city, but it seems to be one of the capitals of vegan and raw food, so maybe I'll go back someday just for the restaurants. I've been to and loved NYC - DEF have to go to Pure Food and Wine there sometime! Also, am looking forward to eating out in San Francisco and Fort Bragg this year as well as exploring vegan dining options in my new Aussie home of Adelaide...

A well-made raw dessert is to die for! Can't wait to try Eggless in Adelaide! Right now, I'm totally addicted to Juicemaster juices!

I went vego after reading "A Buddhist view of meat-eating and animal slaughter" ..or something like that. It made me sad, and I wanted to stop doing things that made animals sad...I'm currently reading "Raw Food For Dummies" and have the following books of my to-read list: "Angel Foods" by Cherie Soria "Conscious Eating" by Dr Gabriel Cousens "Spiritual Nutrition" by Dr Gabriel Cousens that fabulous-looking book about the vegan diet that they always have at The loving Hut. When I remember it's name/author, I'll add them here...
