More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
It is the only ethically/morally responsible and defensible farming and dietary practice. Human exploitation and profitteering at the expense and misery of other species by holding them captive or by "harvesting" non-human wildlife cannot be excused or justified as an "economic system" or "entertainment" or "medically necessary" or anything else. It is specieism and constitutes slavery - something humans claim is already illegal but which we arbitrarily and selectively enforce, depending upon the species of the enslaved. [b]"Never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way." -- Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. [b]"If a group of beings from another planet were to land on Earth -- beings who considered themselves as superior to you as you feel yourself to be to other animals -- would you concede them the rights over you that you assume over other animals? While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal positions on this earth?" -- George Bernard Shaw
