More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Animals are amAAAAAzing! : ) 'The utopians feel that slaughtering our fellow creatures gradually destroys the sense of compassion, which is the finest sentiment of which our human nature is capable.' Sir Thomas More, Irish author and poet, (1478-1535)

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I'm a strict veggie and practically vegan. I reckon I've been full-on vegan for the last 18 months as I am now watching what clothes and shoes I buy! I recently went to buy a plain hat and it had rabbit fur in it!! This kinda of freaks me out! I'm afraid I'll inadvertently buy something I didn't mean too! But I guess the best policy is not to beat myself up about it! I'm a vegan under construction! : ) So.. I'm on here to find out more and more and more!! I also think it's great to be on a forum where people with similar minds and hearts can chat and maybe slag off meat-eaters the odd time for a change! ;)

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Portland Oregon! Suppose to be Vegan capital of the world!

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Adore LIMES and coriander!! Latest addiction.. blend coriander, parsley, avocado, lime, light tahini, nutritional yeast flakes and then grab a spoon! Doesn't make it out of the blender!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

No problem.

I only eat for survival, so not really looking for gourmet meals myself. I'm happy enough with Govindas. Anyway, as I said, vegans can't expect much of society.

Alas, I hope you are one already. You know the saying, when vegetarians grow up, they become vegans winking smiley

Sometimes I dream of a city only for vegans.

In the meantime, you may try Gent (Belgium), with vegan only buffet restaurant, or Amsterdam, perhaps, with a 100% vegan shop. But not quite close to any vegans expectations, as cities in general. To be honest with you, I do find Dublin ok as far as vegan friendly can go in today's society... That doesn't say much about this civilization Disappointed
