More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Though i say i'm 'mostly vegitarian' is only because of not liking to have to talk about eating habits when with non v folk in their homes,( unless there be a clearly receptive audience ) - find that a drag. Got the veg habt around '74, on encountering Divine Light.., found that it was the missing 'Naturality' in my life, and so have stuck with it,due to being one who appreciates good health etc.. being mainly on Main Course Salad with 'Kurakkan' bread. Feel the need to evolve my diet a bit, but being a lazy fellow, have been stuffing the face with the same food for months and months ( trick is to just go on enjoying yourself until the belly sends out distrss signals, and then send in the 'set menu'! So all those delicious menu's are wasted on me.. for the moment
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
comfy site
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Liked Iran. Gentle folk. Qaint old fashioned habits(man helping a lady off the bus etc). Traced this Civility to Islam. Became muslim while there (was born R. Catholic < soame think the expression 'Roman Catholic' to be an 'oxymoron', like 'Military Intelligence', 'Pretty Ugly' etc. Learned to make beer while i was in Iran, as there is no official beer making companies there. The 'Arak'(a fruit alchohol) is also delicious, and made at home unofficially.
Like to visit Africa, S.America, China, places i'v not been
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Food that is Organically grown, home grown, cooked with Care, Conciousness etc
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
At this time am reading H.G Wells 'A Short History of the World' and O.Wilde's 'The Soul of Man Under Socialism' and other essays. Good reading. Reccomend.
