More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Animals are not property.
"The word 'veganism' denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to end the idea of animals as property and exclude all forms of intentional exploitation of, use of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing, research or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, including people and the environment.
In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."
Basically that is the reason I am vegan because I don't want to exploit anybody for any reason.
Veganism is not a choice but a moral imperative.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I like cooking and eating a lot but I would probably rather be eating. I am a major foodie and animal rights/liberation activist and supporter as well. I also really like Happy Cow because it gives you options all around the world and you can add something yourself which is great.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
West Virginia, at least the places that Massey Coal haven't destroyed. I would really love to visit the southern ocean on a nice black "cruise" ship maybe one with a "jolly roger" up the flag pole though Capt. Paul has said some damaging things against veganism and animal rights in general so I support the mission and much of the crew but not a huge fan of Watson.
I also would love to go to Maine and Portland, Oregon and I love beaches at sunrise.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Nutritional yeast, Cashews (raw are great but any will do) My homemade green chili chick'n enchiladas are pretty good and I must say I love a properly done tofu scramble. Any noodle dish tends to be delicious though big preference too anything Asian. Basically I will eat anything vegan.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Films: Wayne's World I and II, The Kids are Allright (the 2010 film), Spinal Tap, Baader-Meinhof Complex, Raspberry Reich, The Room
Books/Zines: Animal Liberation and Social Revolution- Brian A. Dominick, Hootenany- A Songbook Of Radical Campfire Songs, The Natural History of of the Rich - Richard Conniff, Anarchist Voices: An Oral History Of Anarchism In America - Paul Avirich
As of note the links (the genres are correct) in the Music section were not added by me and I do not support Amazon.com and you shouldn't either. They will promote books on pedophilia and help white supremacists but are more than happy to give the finger to Wikileaks!
