More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Animals are not at our disposal and it is unacceptable to exploit them. I believe in the respect of all life forms and do not wish to inflict or support such an industry that tortures and mistreats innocent beings(but I would still be a vegan if a hypothetical situation arose that erased all of that because I could not bear to murder such fellow creatures.) We must honor our own bodies, our planet, and all of its residents! I've also decided to go RAW! I feel like I'm practically levitating with energy, I'm in euphoria!
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
These restaurant reviews are rather nifty and quite convenient! I've utilized it many a time in order to wistfully hope that there will be a delicious veggie restaurant in whatever location I travel to. I'd love to contribute as well, don't even get me started about food! It would also be lovely to meet others with a similar mindset and belief!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Any where that one can find tranquility and solace. It may be in front of you the whole time, but the background is often over looked ;-). A place that can console me and touch me with its piercing and resplendent vistas. Anything involving nature, especially with food! The woodlands and forests are whimsical. I realize I belong in the pacific northwest. I've dreamed of traipsing around Latin America and gorging on fecund fruit trees :D Would love to see the Aurora Borealis, Salir de Uyuni, and other natural wonders of the world!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Young Thai Coconuts have been known to seduce me, and I swoon at the sight and smell of freshly picked garlic. Mangoes, Avocados, Onions, Scallions, Kale, Spinach, Bananas, Mixed Spring Greens, Oranges, Apples, Cucumbers, Zucchinis, Green Beans, Carrots, Coconut Oil, Sesame in any form (seeds, oil, paste *salivates*) Berries! (straw, blue, black, rasp, I'll take em in any shape, size, and flavor!)Grapes(they are like berries if you close your eyes!) Bok Choy, Napa Cabbage, Broccoli (I'm trying to reestablish a relationship with them in their raw forms!)Kim Chi, and everything as local as possible :D
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Anthem and Siddhartha are essential for one's well being.
