More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I am a vegetarian for about 28 years. It was mainly spiritual reasons that inspired this change in my diet. Its a more peaceful and globally responsible form of living.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I discovered this site by accident. But very happy indeed to have found it. I like the name HappyCow. Cows are regarded as sacred in my tradition and their happiness contributes to the well being of society. I know the members here share a common goal which is to protect and preserve all lives. For all lives are sacred and an equal partnership must be created to sustain beautiful Mother Earth. I am in the right group.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I really like the countryside where everything is in tune with the cosmos. I like New Zealand for its natural beauty. Hope to visit NZ someday.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I rarely eat outside unless its a necessity. In my city there is only one pure vegetarian restaurant called Annalakshmi. They serve good food and you pay what you like.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Nothing to recommend at the moment.

Hi, Sudakaran.

Well, there aren't too many totally vegan places to eat in Japan, not when and where you need them, so I eat home or take my own food 99% of time.

Dear Sudakaran,

Well you definately can't eat in regular restaurants if you are a strict veg because they often use oyster sauce, and there is generally dried shrip in their masala paste which is used everywhere.

There are vegetarian restaurants sprinkled around the city of Bangkok, and most tourist places have some vegetarian restaurants as well. The fruit here is wonderful and plentiful so if all else fails you can eat fruit. There are also many steamed corn vendors on the roads so that is also an option if you can't find anythign else!

When do you plan on coming? Are you coming for tourism or to work?

I am originally from America, but lived the last 8 years in India (mainly Vrindavan in UP), and that's where I got my name Krsnamayi.

take care!
