More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Once I realized the impact that I cause to the universe by what I eat & wear, its hard not to be the way that I am with a clear conscience. I respect all beliefs and styles of living and just hope that others respect mine.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I started a listing of vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurant database of Los Angeles a few years ago and started to pass it out to my friends. I just discovered Happy Cow and am so thrilled to find a website that does this. Its also really great to be able to have a supportive community.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I just got back from NY and though it was not healthy, it sure was delicious. I went to Foodswings in Brooklyn. It was so good!!! I had hot wings and mac n cheese!!! But my favorite food or place to visit is this Shojin (Japanese Buddhist Vegan Cooking) Restaurant in a temple complex in Kyoto. I could eat there everyday. I could also visit there everyday its one of the most beautiful places.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I order from an online grocer called SPUD.COM. I receive organic local produce once every 2 weeks. Its my favorite thing to see what I got and what I can make that week. Its fun, easy, environmentally friendly, and nice to my friends, the animals!
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Though Mother Earth News does cater to some farming issues. I love this magazine. Its so informative with gardening and planting tips, energy saving ideas, etc. "How To Cook Your Life" is a great film and I highly recommend it. As far as books goes I just got a bunch of new books like "When Technology Fails" & "Peak Survival" I haven't read them yet but will get back about them. I am kinda obsessed with survival stuff right now.
