More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I don't eat meat because I think its wrong to take a life for food if you don't have to. I'd like to be full vegan someday, but I have trouble maintaining weight, so I'm a bit wary of taking the plunge! My two kids will be veggie, for as long as I feed them. I will teach them why, and hope they feel the same.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I used to know lots of veggies when I was at uni, and afterwards, but now I live in a hick town, where they look at you funny if you pronounce jalapeno correctly. I miss talking to people who are open to alternative lifestyles, who think for themselves.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
The Loire Valley was fantastic, I love Dorset, particularly around Weymouth. I also have a soft spot for Warwick and Stratford. My local nature reserve i lovely, lots of lakes and birds. Theyare expanding it over the next five years, so I'm looking forward to seeing it grow. I'd love to go to Canada, maybe to live. But for the most part, I'm happy to explore the UK, I don't approve of flying unnecessarily. If I'm going to pollute, I'd rather have a car all year, than a yearly two week holiday!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Chunky chips, free range eggs from my sisters hens, yorkshire pud, and my ultimate fave meal - cooked but cold curly kale, dressed in chilled garlic tomato sauce, served with a hot jacket spud and a corn on the cob - YUM!
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
