More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I believe that all shellfish were created with a specific purpose in mind, that is to clean our oceans, rivers lakes, etc. They were not meant to be eaten. I will eat fish once in awhile, those with fins and scales. I don't eat pork because of the fact that the pig has no way to get toxins out of its system, so whatever they take in we take in if we eat them. Since I own an organic bakery and have access to excellent baked goods made from freshly milled whole grains, we now eat so many high fiber grains and beans along with fresh produce and fruits that meat has simply become a take it or leave it sort of thing. We only eat chicken when we get one from a friend's farm who raises her "girls" for eggs and does not feed them any hormone or antibiotic garbage but let's them scratch and peck all day.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I have used Happy Cow's website many times in the past to locate "veggie" friendly places to eat and since I moved my organic bakery down to Florida from South Carolina, I felt it was a good place to find like-minded people to exchange ideas, recipes and info. with. I hope to be a paying advertiser soon!

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
The Cayman Islands. Wonderful snorkeling and so many orchids and parrots. I want to visit England and Scotland one day. I love to travel and sometimes, just go for a drive or a walk until I find a place of interest and then explore.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Our freshly baked "vegan" cinnamon rolls. A raw collard green wrap stuffed with sunflower sprouts, fresh beets, carrots, tofu yogurt and brazilnut paste. You wouldn't believe how Good!!!! Had one at a raw cooking class taught by former owners of "Sprouts" cafe in Atlanta.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
I am an avid reader and I love reading about health issues, cookbooks, vegetarian food, raw food, FOOD food, okay I know there's a trend here. I just LOVE to cook, not cook(raw) and bake. I also love my children, snuggling up with a good book, watching old movies and dancing, when no one's looking! :)

Hi, sorry you found this confusing. This is the way others see your profile:

http://www.happycow.net/members/profile_pb.php?id=13968&v=1

Some text does not show up in your "My Profile" view when you are logged in, I think that's what confused you.

About the group avatar:

- Visit your group "Florida Foodies" when logged in

- You should see a link up top, "Edit"

- Once you click that you should see a field "Avatar/Icon:" - click on browse to locate the ".jpg" file you wish to upload

- Click on "Update Group Info" to complete.

Let me know if you still have any difficulty.

Peace, Eric-Webmaster
