At nine years old, I vividly remember eating a McDonald's chicken nugget and looking at it closely... then critically thinking about what I was eating. Ever since... I've cut animals out of my diet. It hasn't been until I was 20 that I decided to go vegan, now that I truly understand and have an appreciation for health, nutrition, and the truth about factory farming.

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Eating meat does more bad than good.... in every dimension.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I thrive on veg stuff... we are starting a revolution: more demand= more supply. I am beginning to notice my local supermarket is already offering sooo many alternatives, new veg restaurants and tofu choices popping up everywhere, etc. Gotta give em some lovin!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
LOVE SNOWBOARDING... Snowbird, Utah is amazing, not to mention they pride themselves on environmental stewardship... it is so beautiful and tucked away from the rest of the world.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Charles Plaza has delish breaded walnuts coated with a sweet yummy sauce and it is supposed to be like pork... but it is a world of its own. I crave vietnamese summer rolls, too.

heyy, i just came across ur profile. im from philadelphia as well. Skinny bitch changed my life.. after i read that book I cut meat out of my life (over a year ago). I don't know any vegetarians.. but I'm attempting veganism although its hard. :] anyway, just wanted to say hi |
