More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
For the animals, the environment, and health!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
A friend and coworker of mine wrote a great powerpoint on vegetarianism and happycow was listed in the reference section. Of all the things listed in that section, it is the one I still visit on a daily basis. I love the resources here and the warm reception we are greeted with by Eric and Diana.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I love Japan, I haven't been back in many many years and would love to go back sometime. Also Hawaii as that is "home". I want to visit: Hong Kong, Vancouver/Toronto (okay a lot of Canada), Australia, New Zealand, Europe (mostly Germany and England), Seattle, and Portland (yes, I know, I've been to over half the US but I've never been to those 2 cities even though I live in California).

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Pickled vegetables, just about any kind (pickled garlic is my favorite). I love shiso and anything it flavors. Natto! Okay let's just list stuff: nori, roasted chestnuts, roasted vegetables (beets, turnips, parsnips, etc, etc), avocado, tofu, boiled peanuts, all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables, raw almond toasts, beans, rice, miso soup, especially with daikon, okay, this list will go on forever, let's just stop now.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Fast Food Nation, Veg News, Vegetarian Times, will think up more ^_~

interview questions
For some reason I couldn't send you a PM so I'm going to send the questions over this.

Thank you so much!

Okay here are the questions I came up with:

What is daily life ike in your profession?

What is the best part about your career?

What frustrates you the most about it?

How do you cope with that frustration?

How did you get to where you are today (college, internship, applying for jobs)?

What are some important skills to have in your career feild?

Oh and I need to know if it is okay to directly quote you in my paper.

Thanks again!

Rating System
I understand that the rating system doesn't allow 5 stars for a restaurant that isn't 100% vegetarian, and I think that is fine. I just think if you are going to go that far why not make it so only vegan restaurants can get a five star rating, vegetarian restaurants a maximum of four stars, and meat slinging restaurants a maximum of three stars? That is just my opinion. I have been vegan for a long time and have been to restaurants all over the place, and I'll agree that it is nice to not have to smell meat, but it has been my experience that, (although VERY rarely) sometimes "omni" restaurants are more vegan friendly than "vegetarian" restaurants.

Good, good
Hi Tatania,

I would love it if replies to "milky" posts such as these started off with a "cow friendly" emphasis / point - this is the only place where we differ slightly I think.

So how do we get to meet up?

Y's.

Oh boy! - "Vitamans"
Hiya Tatania,

I have not been on the site too much recently due to having only very limited access to computers / the Internet.

Again what I write is not 1% "personal" Tatania - I simply disagree with your "angle" on this.

My "take" is that suggesting adding vitamin tablets to a milk & dairy diet is not really "helping" the individual.

I appreciate your recent blog comment very much - my story is very similar - it tooks me many, many years to completely "kick" dairy.

It is now so, so pleasant to be "animal hormone free".

My tastes in music - do you think that they are connected to my diet? -
