Tis' the season to be....sick?
Well, to my NY vegetarians/vegans desiring health there's something called the natural antibiotic. Directions: blend together. But beware, not for the faint of stomach.
1 grapefruit (with or w/out skin)
1 lemon (w/ or w/out skin)
1 large orange (same as above)
1 medium sized raw onion (w/out skin)
2-3 cloves of raw peeled garlic
It seems everywhere (atleast every health food store) I go, there's a new fad for chia seeds. Even the smallest little cute health food stores in who-knows-where (Gatlinburg, TN) has a container of chia seeds sitting on their shelves.
So what's up with the chia which we grew up seeing on TV sprouting into some cute little pet you can put in your window sill?

Definitely my favorites in NY are Red Bamboo in West 4th Street. They have also Vegetarian Paradise right next door but I prefer the selection at Red Bamboo. My fave choices when I'm there is garlic mash potatoes, chik n'parm (soy cheese or none at all), and sweet potato fries. I'd definitely recommend it for those who want to move from meat eating into a vegetarian diet.
I've been studying more into the dangers of spices and vinegar. For those who are "desiring health", you might just want to consider limiting your uses of cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, and vinegar from your recipes.
