Ungrateful? You are actually helping starvation by giving up eating animal and animal products. All the crops grown to feed cows, pig and chickens could go to hungry people. Animals will eat on their own, they don't need humans to stuff their throats with corn (which isn't what cows naturally eat) and them getting sick.
