we actually have some vegan meetup groups here in the L.A. area, sweetie. just get on meetup.com and put in your zip and vegan and you will find them. just an idea that you might want to join one or more of these and then if they are not what you want, then start one of your own!!
about the apartment sharing, i only have a one-bedroom myself, so i can't help you with that. also, i live in the west san fernando valley.
