Hi! Just joined your group. I've been veg for about 20yrs. now, for ethical reasons. I don't know any other vegs, except my mother (who is the only member of my family who has supported my decision to become one). Everyone else I come across (or am related to) thinks it's a stupid idea(and that vegetarians/vegans are dumb to not eat animals). Lots of hunters in the Western PA area, so not a lot of friendly-types. I feel like I'm my only support system.

Hello, I was very happy to find this group also! I have been a vegetarian for over 17 years and recently have decided to become totally vegan. It has always been difficult when going out to eat with family and friends having to defend myself. People around here don't think it's a meal unless they have their meat. Also, they think you have to cook vegetables with fatback and butter. I don't know any vegetarians or vegans. It's good to know there are others who share my beliefs and values.
