Hey there. My husband and I have been talking about becoming lacto-ovo vegetarians for quite some time. I think we are making the switch, and I thought perhaps we could learn something from you all! I am a bit nervous, but I think it will be okay. The hardest parts about making the switch will be helping my very young children transition. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Well, I think it is great that your children are young. It may make the transition easier. One thing to start with is Gardein "chicken". It is it the frozen section of the grocery store. In the health food section if there is one. They have ckn nuggets that taste wonderful. Some substitutes are more expensive but worth it. Well I am thinking of so many hints for you.....but I would say read books about vegetarianism. One of the best books I have is the "21 day Kickstart Weightloss" book. Not just for weightloss, just a healthy way of living. The book has easy recipes. You will be surprised how easy your kids adjust. My daughter was 11 when we became vegetarian (5 yrs ago). She adjusted easily and became vegan 2 years ago (before me!). let me know if you have more questions!
