Hi,

I am new to this forum, but I have been a vegetarian for about 2 years now. I love being vegetarian and I feel healthy as a result. I am interested in learning about vegan's views about vegetarians and if they have any hostility towards vegetarians.

No hostility at all. You might consider making the transition complete since a vegan diet is not only ethical and cruelty free, but a long life diet as well. One that will have substantial long term health benefits that may not be matched by a vegetarian diet.

I have no hostility towards vegetarians what so ever, having been one for 20 years myself. I do know they exist though as I have witnessed some nasty behaviour from vegans towards vegetarians.
I can't stand any form of extremism and this includes veganism.
I embrace the fact that we are all different.
You'll be welcome here.

I have seen hostility from some vegans towards vegetarians, unfortunately. Which simply shows that being vegan does not prevent you from being stupid or extremist :-) But this is not the rule. Unless you are born in a vegan family, I don't see how you could transition to vegan without being vegetarian first. From a vegan point of view, a vegetarian is someone who has taken the first step but not finished the transition yet. Many vegetarians (including me some years ago) are not aware that milk and egg production also means suffering and death for animals. Once you have have realized that, if your motivation for being vegetarian is respect and compassion for animals, you should naturally tend to veganism. If your motivation is your own health, you should also know that eggs and milk products are not beneficial to us humans, even though the dairy industry is making an excellent job at making us believe another way.
