Well, I've been a vegetarian for about 4 months and my family is ok with it. They don't really like it but they accept it because it makes me happy. But my friends don't support me. They say that I'm weird and somehow "UnAmerican". That's why I joined this group.

It might make you un-American but it doesn't make you in-humane and I know which I'd prefer!
I'm sorry your friends are unsupportive and I hope time will prove that they can either accept you for who you are and not what you are or you find some people more deserving of your friendship.
