I became a vegetarian because I started studying yogic philosophy and thus started learning about vegetarian, vegan, and living foods.

I became vegetarian because I've always loved animals; my friend showed me the Meet your Meat video and it made me cry. I couldn't eat meat after that. In continuance of the non-violent diet, I eventually went vegan. I then found out about the health benefits and environmental benefits of being vegan and that sold me. It's so great, and I've really become, in my other vegan friend's words "Passionate about being vegan"

Hello,
I became vegetarian 3 years ago this month after seeing a video about factory farms. My daughter became vegetarian also. My husband eats meat once in a while. (not around me) Well, he orders fish sometimes at restaurants. It is hard for me to understand how someone can watch what I watched and still eat meat. Since I saw that video I realized an animal is an animal. A pig is no different than a dog in my eyes.

Even as a child it felt wrong to me to eat meat and at 16 I finaly managed to pursuade my parents I wasnt weird and I didnt have an eating disorder. Once they realised it was something I felt strongly about they became more supportive.Im now 31, 100% vegan, fit, healthy and happy and my family are often the first people to invite themselves over if they know Im cooking. For me this is one of the most important things about being a vegi or vegan, educating meat eaters to the fact that vegan food tastes great,is much healthier for you and the planet and of course the most important thing about a vegan diet IT'S COMPLETLEY CRUELTY FREE!!!!!!!!

I became vegetarian because of my religion, animal rights and just because I don't like to consume it. It has only been 2 years and a couple of months, but i'm still going strong about it. I'm actually thinking about going vegan! Any one have suggestions as too what a gean beginner can eat?
