So it looks like spring has finally arrived, between the rainstorms at least! Are you looking forward to the new food spring has to offer? What will you be doing with baby carrots, spring greens, leeks, spring cabbage, purple sprouting broccoli, salad leaves? Or are you disappointed to be leaving behind all those lovely wintry root vegetables?
Last night I made what will probably be the last "stodgy" winter stew of the year - potato, shallot and wild garlic buttery stew with dumplings. It was delicious but I must admit I'm looking forward to some lighter foods - spring vegetable soup is on the cards in the next few days.
