Do you have any questions about how this all works?
It's built pretty straight forward, but if you are wondering how something works, post your question here. smiling smiley

Hi Travelish,

At this point you can only do that by posting announcements / threads. There is something by Google, an events calendar, which may be integrated here. I don't have the details and I'm not 100% sure how it works, but when I have some time I'll look into it.

Hi Webmaster
yes indeed it is possible , even in your own look and feel. I just cut and paste from

"Embed Google Calendar on your website
You can embed your calendar on your website by following these steps:

1. In the calendar list on the left, click on the down-arrow next to the appropriate calendar and select "Calendar settings." (Alternatively, click on "Manage Calendars" at the bottom of the calendar list, then click on the name of the appropriate calendar.)
2. In the "Embed This Calendar" section, copy the iframe code displayed in the white box.
3. Paste this code into your website to embed your calendar.

If you'd like to customize your embedded calendar, click the link above the iframe field to access the Google Embeddable Calendar Helper. Carefully select your options in the Calendar Helper and paste the customized iframe code in your website.

To display events from multiple calendars in the same embedded calendar, simply follow the instructions above to access the Google Embeddable Calendar Helper. Then, check the box next to each calendar you wish to display, listed under "Calendars to Display."

Please note that you can change the amount of information available on your calendar's address by clicking on the "Change sharing settings" link in the "Calendar Address" section. "
Of course , then you ll need one event calendar per group, but it sounds great , easy and one step forward again for happy cow smiling smiley

Thanks Travelish,

Still haven't had time to fully check it out. Do you know if it will only be possible for the moderator to edit/post events on it?
I've just been looking at adding something like vCalendar:
but would prefer to use Google if it's easy.

Hi Webmaster,
I found an explanation on Wikipedia:
Google Calendar allows multiple calendars to be created and shown in the same view. They can also be easily shared, either read-only or with full control, and either with specified people only or with everyone. For example, make one shared calendar for each sports team or club, and a separate calendar for private events. Events from both show up side-by-side on the same calendar, in different colors.

Hi travelish,

This reply comes kinda late, sorry. Just wanted you to know we do use Google Calendars now. We have one for the entire world:
...and also one just for the Los Angeles area here:

Are these groups from Thunder Bay. Sorry if the question appears a bit naive, but I'm quite new to all this. I would love to chat with other vegans from Thunder Bay. Could someone out there please help me or direct me in the right direction?

Hi gemini,

Not sure how many members are from Thunder Bay area. You could try doing a search and write a little note to members individually.
(I just tried and not many showed up)
There is no group for that area yet, so feel free to start your own group, here:
(you might want it to be for all of Ontario to be more active)

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Peace, eric-webmaster
