Why'd you join Going Vegan?
November 10, 2009 10:47AM
Sorry everybody I've been a bit slow in trying to get this group re-energized. Since I am new here, I thought I'd ask one question so see where best to go from here: Why did you join "Going Vegan" and what do you want to see come out of your experience here? I see many of you are already showing that you are vegans. My personal plan is to go raw vegan. I figure that shouldn't be too hard at home, but I DO love to go out and eat and that's where I get stuck....living in a town where "vegetarians" might as well be aliens and a raw meal out would just be a bunch of carrot sticks! lol!

I am going vegetarian because it is better for my health and lifestyle. I have attempted before by going vegan but I believe my health improved so much I developed a goiter. Then I had surgery to remove it. I have never been able to get started again but I keep trying. I has so much engergy then that I felt like a 10 year old. I could not stop. Yet, I did not have qualified medical help or advise that could explain all the things going on in my body.

I'm trying to become informed. My 15 year old daughter has decided to become a vegan, and I totally support that, but I need to readjust my thinking as far as food goes. I want to be able to make meals for her that are mouthwatering, and I want to help educate her so that she'll be able to do this on her own one day. I only want what's best for my 3 girls and my husband and I want us to all be healthy. We've been reading 'Skinny Bitch', and my husband and I are thinking that this is something that we need to do for our whole family.
