hi i am charmayne, and am currently studying mandarin. i have only just commenced mandarin lessons.. i was studying cantonese and decided mandarin would probably be globally more useful so hence my switch. living in a china i am looking forward to learning and practising every day!.
i have also studied sign-language up to the highest conversational level, (the next level up to was 'for interpreting' which, at the time i was not interested in). i have lost a lot of my sign skills, sadly, as i have not used them for quite a few years.
i also studied a very basic course of german a few years ago and will commence a more conversational german course once i have reached a satisfactory (read fluent!) level of mandarin.

and wondering which language(s) us bilingual members are speaking or learning?

i have come to australia recently and my mandarin has slowed a little.. working in the medical field i get to meet a lot of people so i am hoping to meet a few chinese patients who could help me get back into my verbal practice. a school teacher friend of mine has commenced sign language/auslan lessons so we are practicing our signing together and it has been great!.

i hope to hear from you all soon or to see some discussion topics start .
