When reading Sarah Kramer's recipes some of the ingredients listed are 'vegan gelatine' or vegan worchestershire sauce' does anyone know if these products are available here, is there an Australian website to order things on-line? Regards, Polly.
Agar agar acts the same as gelatine and is made from seaweed. "Jam setta" from the supermarket may do the same thing I think. Agar agar is expensive when bought from supermarket or www.crueltyfreeshop.com.au. It can be bought from asian grocery shops for a lot cheaper as they use it regularly in their cooking. Although not much is used each time (unless you're making vegan sugarpaste icing!)
