Its different from my own falafel wich I learn too cook via gispy/jew traditioneel.
But these one also taste good
Falafel
9 oz. cooked chickpeas
1 clove garlic
Salt, to taste
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. flour
Vegetable oil for deep-frying
Sandwich
4 pita breads
1 cup hummus
16 falafels
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1/2 cup chopped cabbage
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup cooked sweet corn
1/2 cup cooked rice (optional)
Chili sauce, to taste
*
Combine all the falafel ingredients, except the oil for deep-frying, and blend in a food processor.
*
Make balls (about the size of a lime) out of this mixture.
*
Heat the oil for deep-frying and deep-fry 4 to 5 balls at a time.
*
Warm up the pita breads. Cut off the top inch of each pita bread.
*
Spread about 2 Tbsp. of the hummus inside each pita bread and put 1/4 portions of all the sandwich ingredients inside each. Top with about 2 Tbsp. hummus. Serve immediately.
*
You might also want to try nondairy mayonnaise in combination with tomato ketchup as an extra dressing.
Also a nice tip is too ad a little beer over the balls or in, when fried it gives a bit extra that you won't regret.
