Homemade Potato Chips
July 09, 2009 04:18AM
I recently discovered that there is an option to expensive and any undesired ingredients found with store bought potato chips can be made right in the microwave! I found one recipe by chance and searched out more. Its very easy. I did discover that the times in all of the recipes varied as each microwave varies in required heating times.
Lightly Grease a microwave safe plate or line plate with parchment paper(I learned of this technique from Fatfree Vegan: [blog.fatfreevegan.com]
Thinly slice a potato
Add any seasonings desired
Put slices on plate
Microwave for a few min. Flip and cook on other side. I cook mine for 6 min on one side, flip cook for 6 min on other side, then flip again for a couple of more min as needed. Other microwaves do not require so long cooking times and would burn at the temps I need for my model. Simply check the chips frequently and cook longer as needed.
Chips will be crunchy and delicious.
