Best way to cook mushroom caps for sammich

I do an ok job. Just wondering what anyone else has tried.
I like to marinate them in balsamic vinegar, a little bit of oil, and smashed garlic and then cook them open side up (so the marinade can soak in more) in a panini press so they get a little bit smashed. Yummy!
