Books for a young vegetarian?
Posted by OhSusanna at 09/01/2014
Hi there... I just found this site and am hoping you all can help me! My daughter recently decided she wanted to be a vegetarian. She has been doing great (i am a long time veg so she's not a stranger). I was wondering if anyone could recommend some books bout the importance of nutrition and making smart choices. She is 10 years old, so they would need to be geared towards the 'tween set.
I just want to make sure she understands that yes, french fries may be vegetarian, but they are still "sometimes" food and that her body needs higher quality food to grow strong and healthy. Obviously, I will guide her... But she is an avid reader and fascinated with health, so figured this would be a good way to open up the dialogue between us.
In any case, do books like this exist? Or do I need to start writing one? Lol!!!
Thank you kindly for any suggestions.
