Thought this was disturbing and thought others may want to know as well what some idiot yocals do w their spare time. The one guy has a freezer full of dove and goes out to kill more anyway. Some states they are protected, mostly not though.

I thought wildlife areas were sanctuaries for animals, not zones of danger.

HEADS UP: If you look at the photos, there are a few dead animals, somewhat graphic. They also show huge weapons they kill these doves with, some that look like they are designed to shoot down helicopters, not birds of peace.

Sad.

America's "Killing Fields" - http://mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/applications/moatlas/AreaSummaryPage.aspx?txtAreaID=5501

Regrettably your nation has a particularly dark & bloody history / present.

It is so refreshing to see the current vegan explosion in the US.

Unconnected bit - I think of Native American Indians when I hear about doves.

I revisited this fabulous discussion between Marlon Brando & Dick Cavett this week - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAPDQ5MlLxE - it is posted in 6 parts & well worth taking an hour to watch - Native American Indians never killed birds for 'sport'.
