Rosa Parks was an African American woman and civil rights activist. She is known as Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement.

Parks became well-known in beginning in the mid-1950s America for her refusal to give up her seat on a bus to make room for a white passenger. Her act of civil disobedience was the tipping point of the rights movement and the start of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The boycott became of the largest movments against racial segregation in the US history.

Rosa Parks lived to be 92 years old.
